2009 was the first of many years I have attended Beale St. Music Festival. I had just got back to Arkansas after a semester at The University of Prince Edward Island in Canada and for a short time I was sleeping in the parking lot at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, AR while I got a job and living situation worked out. I was not able to move into my new apartment until May 5th anyway and so it worked out that I had tickets and a hotel lined up all ready to cover the nights of the festival from May 1st – May 3rd. I am writing this 8 years later so I don’t remember all the details about every concert though I do remember Steve Miller Band was one of the highlights for me. Others that were their that year were Rise Against, The Cult, Katy Perry, Korn, Shinedown, Saving Able, 311, The All-American Rejects, Fall Out Boy, Theory of a Deadman, Three 6 Mafia, Snoop Dogg and Hinder. Notice that the price was only 63.50 for all three days and compare that to other Beale St. Music Festivals that follow. I missed the 2010 BSMF ($65 for three days that year) because I had to graduate that weekend, looking back I should have skipped that graduation.
